I couldn-t believe it the first time I saw the depth of the water, the current and sometimes the length of the crossing. But it had to be done, somehow. I had to wade through with the water over mz knees.
Btw: were the middle results ever corrected?

Sunday, when I finished as one of the first one of the first ones and told them that a flag was missing, the organisers were kind of resigned and things did not move fast anymore. The rain, the high water, and the 2 control flags they had forgotten to put out dampened their enthusiasm (which is understandable) and motivation. The start of prize giving took forever and most people had to leave (I did by 4 pm). I hope this little group of orienteers in Grandola recover quickly and get their joy for orienteering back.

It was pretty epic Beatrice! Last year weather was hot and water knee high, quite refreshing. This time not so much! Well done you. Yes it was not up to the usual high Portuguese standard, but one of their key guys was rushed into hospital that week. Yes I hope they do too. We looked at results and it didn't alter placings so we've let it stand. Not ideal but.... Hope you enjoyed it nevertheless. I was happy to beat peter Müller one race at least!
