Presumably you weren't in the bit of Hawaii (on Kauai, I think) where 927 millimetres of rain fell in the 24 hours to 9am Sunday.

No we tossed up between staying here In Poipu on south of Kauai and Princeton in the north. Went for Poipu. The 927mm fell on Princeton. Good choice ;)

Turns out another gauge got over 1200 in 24 hours (which will be a US record if confirmed).
