Welcome back, it was a beautiful day to be out yesterday. I hope for a quick return to your usual self. Hamstring issues are my Achilles heel.

Thanks! It was a nice day and nice to be back running in the woods! My hamstring pains are what is called radialculopathy pain--it stems from what is now more or less permanent lower back injury and isn't so germane to the muscle where it's actually felt. After much needed surgery, in 2015, I had gotten away from it, but it's edging in a return. In January I felt radialculopathy returning and then what was more like a calf achilles tear--those tendons are all connected so I think it's all related to my back issues. Your hamstring injury sounds to be the traditional debilitating kind and everyone who's told me about that kind has told me it takes a very long time to get past; I hope you fair better with it. You did pretty well in Manassas not only for competing while being injured, but in some parts of that park, messing up can be hard to recover from. You apparently didn't have to!
