Mmm I think it was very long and boring. Much like my thesis haha ;) Nah it was good to get it out of the way so I can focus on writing!

Haha. Well, good work anyway. Getting to the end :)

Did any/how many academics asked long winded questions that were only vaguely related to your topic and not really questions anyway but monologues on their own work??

Also, well done :)

Thanks!! Hahah Lizzie....you nailed it. Definitely had a few of those. And my brain is always totally fried after presenting, so my answers were probably just as confusing :P

They just can't help themselves ;)
Haha, it's always so hard to put together an answer when you're brain fried from your talk! But don't worry, once they got their long-winded non-questions out, they probably weren't listening for the answer anyway!

I didn't realise I had such a reputation for asking awkward questions in certain circumstances until at an international conference some years ago where a speaker was using a data set of questionable quality and I heard one of the Brits in the next row say to the person next to them "there's no way Blair's going to let her get away with that". They were right...

Congratulations on getting one step closer - it's a long road but it sounds like you're just about at the finish line.

Haha well I'm glad you weren't at my presentation to ask any tricky questions!!

And thanks, yeah the end feels close...
