I kind of just assume I will get it back, but maybe I'm naive ;) Probably more sad about losing my watch than my wallet!

Actually I've lost and retrieved my wallet at least twice on public transport in Australia, already a few times in Switzerland and once in Sweden where I got off the train at the airport only to realise that my wallet was still on the express train back to Stockholm! Haven't tried the UK ;)

I must just have a bleak view of the general population. Which is not very fair - once I forgot about my wallet on the roof of my car in Aus, and it was returned right to my door by a couple of kindly lads.

My purse has been *liberated* from my car more than once :( but I don't believe I've ever left it behind anywhere - glad you got yours back, V!
