Hi Barb. I read most of the proposal and I think it is really well done. I think the only weak spot is how the program ties to school, post-secondary and career goals and I would try to beef up that section. Right now most of the tie-in focuses on general life skills (being organized, establishing goals, etc.) and while these are really, really important my guess is that a grant reviewer will want to see something more concrete. You make some mention of careers along the lines of sports and teaching but there's lots of others. For example, there is a brief mention about computer skills somewhere and a project that involved making a map. A mention of GIS type careers might be appropriate. Another project was about making a how-to video and a movie. Perhaps mentioning careers involving general technological expertise is useful. Not that you are training the youth for these careers but that you are exposing them to aspects involved in those careers so they have a sense of careers that might be available to them and whether they would like them. Anyway, I think the proposal is really strong and I offer these comments only in hopes of making a strong proposal even stronger and so that you know a lot of us really care about what you are doing.

Thanks, that's really helpful - and it is an area where we were told we needed to beef up.
