So what kind of watt numbers are we talking about here?
I think the range of the base numbers at starting was 150 (me) to about 250. For the 10" bits, the machine did it at 175% of base; for the 20" bits and the longer easy sections I think it was 70%, more or less.
I kept lowering my base until it was 125, at which point I was still doing some work but could also carry on a conversation easily. At the end, last couple of hard bits, I upped it to 140 (effectively 140 x 1.75), and it didn't seem much different.
Walter was at 175 the whole time.
The set-up is 7 CompuTrainer gizmos (of unknown vintage) hooked together with a screen in front projecting all the data and the profile of the workout.
Walter is quite a bit bigger than you, right? As a benchmark, the Daedalus pilots needed to be able to to 3 watts/kg for extended periods.
