Discussion: Storm names

I really wish the European meteorological services would get their act together when it comes to naming storms - it's a real pain when you're writing a report and the same storm has four different names depending on which country it was crossing. The tropical cyclone people seem to manage it.

I know, it's pretty hopeless especially as Europe is so small geographically. I also find it funny here that even really mild weather systems get names, not sure if that's common?
