Take heart. I am living proof that after someone has taken a knife to both knees, one can still train just as intermittently and compete with the same level of mediocrity as before the operation.

Not good news. Is this a new problem, or an old one that has reoccurred?

Relatively new. Been getting worse for last few months. Surgeon also tracked down an old problem related to my crutiate that requires some bone shaved off to allow it to track properly.

I seem to be able to run after having cartilage sown up, bone shaved etc, even though it took a while to recover. My knee still hurts, but it is never worse for running.
Best wishes for 31st.
