Too funny. Bricks and mortar will be dead within a generation.

Nooo, not the bookshops!
(I've just been reading Diary Of A Bookseller; it's hilarious.)

The decline in bookshops has been a problem for a while; we now only have a couple of generalist bookshops left in the Melbourne CBD (neither of them within reasonable lunchtime walking range, something I miss significantly).

I'm actually a bit of a luddite when it comes to online shopping, but that's largely because of the problems of delivering the goods to a house where no-one is normally home during the day (plus, for things like running shoes, my experience is that the sizing is unpredictable enough that I want to be able to try them on).

Online shopping was a bit of a shock in Aus after the UK, and I think it's only just catching up - still a lot harder with returns.

Having an employer that accepts parcels makes it a whole lot easier.
