Discussion: Millenials

With as many boomers as there are in our sport, I'm surprised that we haven't heard "Millenials are killing orienteering!"

We don't volunteer as much
We don't have the time or vacation to travel to every event around the country.
We expect a higher level of production to compete against all the other outdoor options.

Its pretty easy to say we are killing the sport as it was. I just hope we can get everyone to see that and make the transition to something sustainable before we kill it permanently.

I’m an outlier then... primarily in terms of volunteering. I’m just as cash strapped as anyone else in my generation and I do expect quality if I’m spending money.

I think many of us on AP are the outliers in many ways...
