Aye, came back on less than 20 minutes later, just as I was heading out the door (complete with towel to let me use the shower at work!). More sparks than bang, according to the kids (who saw it). SSE were out within 15 minutes, but then they are based just down by DNK...

G & M went down to see Jim about it. Turns out it was a squirrel doing acrobatics between the wires. Now a dead, fried, squirrel by all accounts. No actual damage done to the box but as the cable goes underground from Jim's the system does not auto-re-engange but has to be inspected before coming back on - hence the short delay while the guys came out. Interesting! :-)

Hope it wasn't a red squirrel! Not too bothered about crispy fried grey squirrel nuggets.
