How did you go around the section that the Army Corp has closed for the Pumping Station (near Long Road)?

Who says I went around it?

Seriously, the chain link fence only goes to the base of the levee on the north side. I just ran through the grass for a while. There's enough of a gap between the fence and the trench that it's easy to get through.

Anything that doesn't include going through or over the fence counts as 'around' in my book.

It was difficult to tell, standing at the fence, why the trail needed to be closed. Some of the other trail crossings had seen some pretty heavy traffic. Supposed to reopen in mid-March....

You would definitely have your work cut out for you crossing it on the trail (unless they've moved a lot of dirt in the last week).

No dirt visible on Tuesday morning. Just the 6' fence.

Right, but between the fences is a very large trench perpendicular to the trail. Presumably, they will fill that in and repave before removing the fences.

Presumably. I didn't see it standing still, I imagine it would fill in with cyclists quickly if they removed the fence first. Will look more closely on Tuesday.

I like the idea of filling it with cyclists. Seems like an effective cost-cutting measure. MAGA!
