Swampfox:
I just checked the temperature on your log for Lawrence. Could it really be 75F at midnight in Lawrence in the middle of October?! That seems ridiculous.

It is possible but it wasn't the case last night.

I say it is possible because it was quite warm and the dew point was high on Friday (86F when I left work at 5 p.m.).

But last night a cold front came through around 7 p.m. and the temp dropped quickly. At midnight the temp was probably about 50F.

I have two hypotheses about the 75F reading at midnight:

(a) the storm damage in Lawrence (trees down, power out) damaged some of the equipment used to measure and report the temp.

(b) Swampfox was very confused, he checked the temp in Lawrence when it was noon but for some reason was confused and thought it was midnight.

I´d go for the second alternative as the most plausible.
