You may be able to escape for their Sprint into Spring event on the Saturday. Not a fair substitute I know, but proximity trumps many things.

Lilydale's nearly as far out as Bendigo...am going to put proximity to the test this Sat, though; hoping to run the Melbourne Uni sprint in-between wedding and reception on Sydney Rd @Brunswick!

What's the venue for the reception? My neck of the woods :)

I somehow doubt that you normally hang out at the Uniting Church.

Not normally, but I have been to a wedding there, and I did hang out there once during the Sydney Rd Street Party because some friends are quite church-y.

Uniting Churches in inner-city Melbourne aren't exactly your normal church. My local for some time has been prominently displaying a banner calling for no new coal power stations.

The Uniting Church is advocating voting YES. I went to a service and the hymn was 'We love gays and lesbians', with all the oldies happily singing along!
They are also very active with first nation recognition and many other social justice areas. Not your normal church.

Thats because all their conservative fellow god-botherers stayed with the Presbyterians. Chalk and cheese. Like comparing Father Bob and George Pell.
