I liked the Ergo carrier the most. The babybojrn hurt my back, so I appreciated something with a hip belt to support the weight of the baby. Our kids spent a lot of time in them.
Real smiles! How are the giggles?
We also are big fans of the Ergo, still going strong at almost nine months.
Which cloth diapers are you guys using? We've gone with Rumparooz, and love them!
Cloth diapers... really! Isn't that a lot of work? Glad both my kids don't have diapers anymore! yupee!
Oh great, glad to hear good reviews of the Ergo! Psyched to give it a try soon. No giggles yet, just a lot of unconscious baby gurgles and other noises - we joke that she's a baby pterodactyl when those are loud...
We've mostly been doing the tiny Gdiapers so far, using prefolds as the inserts. When she's out of those, we have small Gdiapers and some Rumparoos and Thirsties covers to give a try!
And cloth diapers aren't so bad. We're doing an extra load of wash every 2 days. Vut other than that, really don't have to do anything extra, at least while baby is breastfed - I hear that after that, the poop has to be scraped/sprayed/dunked off first...
Another vote for the Ergo, which we preferred (prefer?) over the Babybjörn. We've used it a few times since Lukas turned two, so it maintains its usefulness!
We are in transition now... from exclusively breastfed to some solid foods. Definitely a change, definitely grosser to prep for the washer, but the difficultly level is still low enough to manage. We'll see how it goes when the diet is 0% breast milk...
We stopped doing the cloth diapers since K can't wear them at daycare, but I don't think the mess gets too much worse with solid foods. K is on mostly solids now, just be ready for at least a round or two of diaper rash when she starts solids (K never had diaper rash on breast milk, so I was just about to congratulate myself on my obviously amazing parenting skills when I gave her a tablespoon of rice cereal and she immediately developed a rash that lasted 4 days :) ) I have some inserts and covers I'd be happy to send you if you want them. And a comfy carrier is a complete life saver!
Oh cool, glad to hear the transition isn't too bad so far- may ask for tips on prep as we get to that stage! But will be aware of possibility of diaper rash...
And maybe on inserts and covers - we got a bunch of stuff as hand-me-downs from someone here, but should check on what it actually is and if likely to be enough or no- will email you!
