.... races this Weekend again. Congrats!
Herzliche Gratulation! :-)
Jetzt weiss ich warum du heute nach dem Lauf so gestrahlt hast :-) Bravo!!
Danke!! Nach 5 Jahre habe ich das Schweizer Gelände langsam im Griff ;) Am liebsten Voralpine und Jura..
Another nice run - hope you can carry that form into the World Cup.
From your description of the terrain and the stated climb stats, I can only assume that either (a) someone doesn't know how to calculate climb, (b) there was a lot of contouring, (c) the start was a long way above the finish or (d) all of the above. (I've seen the M21E map online; looks an interesting, if physically tough, area).
Also just looked at the weather obs and have realised that it's just as well you weren't actually close to the top of the Santis - how low did the snowline get? (It wasn't totally obvious from the map I saw how high the mapped area was but I'm guessing 1500m or thereabouts?).
Thanks aussies too ;)
Blair, the highest point on my course was 1350 and the finish down at 1100. There was quite a lot of contouring and some steep descents, and I don't think much more than the advertised climb.
The fresh sprinkling of snow on Santis looked beautiful. Much nicer than the day before which was low cloud and constant rain!
Nice work Ness! You're on fire!
