That's a good positive perspective! Your belly band is in the mail; I think it should get there Saturday. Thinking of you!

Sounds like some wise thinking. The forecasts I'm seeing suggest a window of improved smoke this weekend before getting worse again next week, so an arrival in the next day or two might be good timing.

Where do you get such forecasts on the smoke? I haven't found something good to follow for it, just have the air quality advisories, but those seem to just get updated each day to extend for longer...

I like looking at this website. It has a bunch of different forecasts you can choose between. I don't understand what everything means but the animation is cool.

The blue sky firesmoke.ca sites for smoke forecasts are very good for western Canada and covers the NW US as well.

The 'forecast discussions' on weather.gov (link should be visible once you select the forecast for a specific place) seem to be pretty good for this - there's some technical language in there but most of it should be accessible to a non-specialist.

Ah, well all of these seem to agree that the smoke is coming back for us Monday morning. At least the forecast doesn't have it sticking around too long...
