Who are the top tips? Craig is setting; I am broken (and I can't navigate at Jumbuck anyway); I haven't seen Oliver in the results for weeks. No-one came within ten minutes of Craig at Yetar in the MD SOL!

The girls look nearly as bad. Joanna is away doing her tri. I'm setting. Hopefully Ceri can make it, although she is setting Sunday's event. Veronika said she will go. If Ceri does make it I would hope those two would have a reasonably close race. Karen's turned up to a few events this year and if she comes she could challenge them too.

It does leave it pretty wide open without Craig, Henry or yourself. We all know if Steve makes the trip he can do well, but of course he is coming off very little practice, so really is an unknown quantity. I think good terrain running and accurate nav will pay off. It was slower running than I had thought it would be. Sten, Juffy, Cameron, Oliver, Wayne, Simon, Graham, Andre, Tooms should all be in with a chance depending on how well they can put it together on the day assuming some of those run 21's over other age classes. For me, I'm hoping with it being wide open that everyone thinks they've got a shot and make it a really good, deep competition. Should be fun to see it unfold!

Maybe GB could step up and run open might be a chance

Well he's a lot faster than me, so he might as well.

I haven't written myself off just yet. Perhaps I can walk the course faster than the top runner! It'll depend on a) whether the surgeon decides to take the wires out of my knee immediately after I see him on the 12th, or failing that, b) how much the swelling has gone down and if I'm able to move faster than a crawl.

I'm coming. Not doing much training, but felt good running fairly hard last weekend (pity I rippes the bottom off my big toes in the process and have hardly been able to walk since!)
I reckon I navigate better with no practice anyway :)

Well I may not have had any bush navigation by the time the champs come around, not since Spice Brook. I may even have to enter my age group for the long champs if I'm not physically capable of M21 by that time!
