A few years back I made a rudimentary O map of part of the Treasure Valley Scout Camp which included Sampsons Pebble - pretty much the area on the northwest part of the pond and the pebble was pretty much the western extent of the area I mapped. Used it to teach scouts in the troop basic orienteering skills on one of the campouts there. Not sure where that map wound up. Probably sitting on a USB stick somewhere. Aerials/CalTopo contours plus a couple visits for fieldwork - nothing special..

The woods out there looked quite nice (what we could see from the trail, anyway), and it struck me as a prime venue once orienteering really takes off in this country... yeah, right.

And in the meantime, nobody lives anywhere near there, so it's unlikely to happen in the foreseeable future.
