I've got a map in the works that's much flatter than Busse. The flood plain portion of Creve Coeur Lake Park is 3 Km^2 and the high point is less than 5m above the low point. It's the venue I'd like to use for a relay champs event (looking more like 2009 since ROC has stepped up for 2008).

FLO has at least one map that is essentially free of contours.

I actually test ran the Busse blue course with 2 ft.!! LIDAR contours a few weeks before the Ramble. They made contour navigation to control 1 possible. We decided to stick with the old contours because we did not have time to field check the new ones. However, a smaller conour interval is coming to Busse in the future and might make that quite an interesting and challenging map.

What are the funny parallel gray dashed lines on the Austrian map?

Narrow rides through the planted pine forest. Good running and useful for navigation if you could keep track of them.
