Will the classic model event area be open Saturday?
I thought I read that it would be but I cant find the reference on the website again.

I was hoping to have it open on Saturday, especially for those of you who can't make it down on Friday, but for various reasons it will not be. Sorry.

How about leaving it open late Friday night? This would be especially useful for those of us staying in the cabins and arriving late.
Night O on the Model Event. Sounds like fun!

The document "Planned Course List" under the Map Notes and Courses section of the website indicates the Model event will be open 11/2 and 11/3.

I knew I read it somewhere!!! So what's the deal Peggy?

Clarify please. Is the 4:30 Friday deadline for Classic Model a firm "be out of the woods" or is it "organizers & controls may not be there anymore"? For late arrivals or for runners with late Sprint starts, not much time to meander on the Classic Model terrain.

Here's one more request, if it's at all possible, to be able to look at the model terrain Saturday morning (no controls needed) -- my kids have never really seen anything like it.

The Classic Model will not be open on Saturday. One reason is because we have to pickup and use the controls. We are extending the time for the Classic Model on Friday to 5:00pm. The last starts will be 4:45pm. We might be able to open it slightly earlier on Friday too.

If you go out on Saturday, you'll be on your own (i.e. not part of the event), and without controls. We won't disqualify people doing this unless they stray beyond the model area.

Not to add to your work because there is enough of it to do getting ready for a championships with 550+ entries but if a lack of controls is the issue then I think a lot of latecomers would just be happy if you could leave a bit of ribbon where the controls were in the model event terrain. Then they (we) could run with the same advantage of familiarity with the model event terrain and typical control locations. If you do that and if you ned help then I will volunteer to pick up those ribbons after my run on Saturday.

I've gotten word that we can arrange to leave the control bags so I will leave them out. Help picking up controls would be great Saturday or Sunday.

Nadim, a very practical compromise.
Thanks for the flexibility - I feel that it is exactly what people needed - and you even gained a volunteer :).
