Discussion: Disappointing

Disappointing to see so little snow this early. It looks more like it could be late June or July. Maybe the snows aren't quite done yet.

Maybe they should park the big groomer over by the xc area for the summer.

Or they just don't park it and keep grooming all summer. Word going around town is that Squaw Valley is trying to figure out how to have a combined '16-'17-'18 season and just not close.

So seriously now, should I be considering a June trip to Truckee? This seems like it might be a pretty rare and unique opportunity for summer skiing. I wish I could just hop out there now but work won't let me escape in May.

For downhill? Sure. But nordic, I probably wouldn't plan a trip around it. ASC said they'll bust out the groomer for a few more random weekends, but they usually only announce those a couple days in advance. Other than that June will just be crust skiing up high.
