Seems pretty standard these days to not actually get a connection whilst in your room.

We had excellent connectivity at Seagulls Guesthouse in Mt Manganui; didn't even need a password there, and in Rotorua our household managed all 7 of us online at once, but here the per-room password is only allowed to be used by one device at a time and so we even have to take it in turns sitting in the corridor!
