For centuries scientists have relied on evidence to build their theories about how things work. The medical profession is slowly converting to an evidence based practice. Donald has taken the approach that scientific literacy is a disqualification for anyone making science policy.

The number of scientists I know that refuse to attend a conference in the US until the policies are changed back is growing. Attendance at the Euro Geosciences Meeting (next week) is at an all time high.

After a refreshingly-deep tech conference in Innsbruck last summer (not to mention the incredible Alps trail running, shh), I'm convinced that US conferences are useless glad-handing and networking exercises.
