I hit upon a novel (to me), seasonal use for a used map case today while preparing for tonight's Seder meal: as a sheet protector for old, stained recipe pages and cooking notes.
Happy Passover to those who celebrate it.
Ah, the endless uses for old map cases. My favorite was a temporary tropical fish bowl.
They make great file folders for papers and details (such as small notes, keys, etc) which you must take out of the house. Not only are they sealed on three sides rather than one - as a manila folder is - but because they are transparent, you can quickly appraise the contents, and it stays dry in the rain!
Never throw out a map case.
Unless, like me, you have more than enough to last a lifetime.
