Got my first pair nearly 3 years ago and they've made a big difference to my training - they take some getting used to but are surprisingly nimble, my Stinson ATRs have been up the Lairig Ghru and round the Grey Corries. On the other hand if you wear them now what are you going to turn to in 20 years time when your knees are shot?
Speedgoats are for lapping the Meadows on the grass after heavy rain :-)
How many miles do you get out a pair? Feels like the bounce might go quite quickly?
Not sure exactly - I should keep better records - but best guess is they do 500 - 600km as front-line trainers, then another 100km as warm-up/warm-down shoes.
I'm heavy for a runner (now just under 70kg for the first time in years) and bounce too much so hit the ground hard, and have learned to be ruthless about getting rid of old shoes.
I've found the Hokas stay generally bouncy but eventually the foam under the ball of my foot compresses, so i start overpronating
