That picture is not the picture I have in mind of the forest at Burr Oak Woods from the one time I ran there! (But it does look a lot like the conditions from Possum Trot one year, maybe at the Blue and Gray Park?)

Yeah, if I hear the phrase "Burr Oak", it doesn't even register as a varietal. It registers as my very least favorite time ever in the woods: getting shredded at PT5.

I'll admit that the photo isn't "typical" Burr Oak terrain. But, Burr Oak isn't so terrible, you guys are just spoiled by pleasant terrain.

I will do some appropriate re-framing here: my one trip to Burr Oak set me back for several years as horrible thorn wounds to my arms and legs slowly healed, with the doctors secretly saying amongst themselves (I could hear them): "He will never survive this." And I still have PBOTSD (post Burr Oak traumatic syndrome) from seeing a dead opossum dangling from one control, with the rotting corpse spilling dozens of maggots with each sway in the forlorn Burr Oak breeze.

And of course all the clothes and shoes I had on had to be tossed, as they were utterly wreaked by the fierce vegetations...

It's also the only O-race where I've knocked myself out (though, ironically, that happened in one of the few patches of woods where it was possible to run fast, and therefore sustain a significant head injury due to a trip).
