How cool to run among the Greek Temples. Missed seeing this site last year. Can I borrow your map next time I am in the area?

Of course! Have you ever seen Reggia di Caserta? I had no idea. The scale and the opulence are beyond anything else I've seen.

Also, I'll post the maps when I get home.

Beyond the Vatican, I take it?

Well, I've generally laid off the Vatican. Just not interested enough to deal with the crowds. The Reggia is a bigger place. The Vatican has better quality sculpture. But the Reggia sure has a lot of it. I suppose Versailles would be a comparable, but I've never been there.

Your venues remind me of a three-day event Gail and I went to in Paris in 1978 -- Rambouillet, Fontainebleau, and Versailles, though in each case the actual orienteering was in the forest surrounding the palace and not in the formal gardens. Very cool, as your trip seems to be.

I believe I was there, too! What time of the year was that?

Summertime, pretty sure it was mid-July, following week we went to the Swiss 5 Days in Basel.

Exactly! I still have those pix, the maps and the program cover ;-). I won the women's elite race and remember ferns being over my head in places.
Uhh, I was young then.

Still young, but it makes me smile to think of you atop that podium, Beatrice.
