This sounds … interesting. I thought about pulling the string back when there were cheap fares to SFO and then realized I may never get to and from Truckee. (Also it was supposed to be a week after the Birkie, and look how that turned out.) I was sort of right; sounds like the pass just reopened. Looks like the finishing times were … not fast.

Yeah 80 was closed from midnight until maybe 1 this afternoon, so anybody not already in truckee this morning missed it.

Course record is like 1:04 or so? Today's winner was 1:44. So close.

I looked at the Truckee webcam this morning and thought there was a power failure because I couldn't see any lights. Then realized it was just a near white-out. Man oh man! Busted skis, busted ass, nearly busted car. You're going through gear at an alarming rate - even for biggins! Totally worth it I bet.

My theory is that I'm back to breaking stuff at the standard biggins rate, but the last few years have not had much snow so there has just been less skiing.

Not a great day for crashes and getting busted. Nice results for you!

Oh my god, Greg. Enough! I hope you heal fast. Maybe the binding will heal, too. Nice result in the race despite the mishaps!
