to clarify... when it says US and Canadian team members, is that refering to the standing team?

National Winter Training Camp (January 5-8, 2006)
** UPDATE **
Hamilton, Ontario

Due to many requests....this camp is now open to ANY full member of USOF and COF. The camp will offer at least 2 orienteering training sessions each day and will include presentations by Holger Hott-Johansen, Sandy Hott-Johansen, Dr. Mark Tarnopolksy and others on various aspects of training and racing including a slide show on Denmark terrain, a nutrition presentation, and how to plan and execute your training.

Training sessions will include sprint, relay training, training for Denmark, NAOC 2006 terrain, control picking and more on maps in and around Hamilton and Milton, Ontario.

Costs are still being discussed (ignore the cost on the web site for now) but will likely be free to Canadian HPP members, $50 for US Team members, and $150 for others for all 4 days. Special price for the weekend only will also be set shortly and a special price for GHO GOLD members that are assisting with control placement, food, athlete billetting, etc.

Costs include all maps, training exercises, handouts, hall rental (and money to help cover part of the travel expenses for Holger and Sandy).
Any profits from this training camp will go the Canadian National Team.

Yes this is an excellent deal! Please note that no personalized training will be offerred as the National team will be using this camp for their own training. However, handouts will be available and opportunities to chat with team members after sessions will almost certainly be available as well. Nevertheless, this is an excellent opportunity to train with and listen to one of the World's best.

Details here shortly.

Sorry Hammer. Sounds good. But I'm confirmed for the Desert-O in CA. Any bighorn sheep in Dundas Valley?

In order to start figuring out travel plans, when do you expect that things would start on the 5th and finish on the 8th?

Plans were to squish both THursday sessions into the afternoon. GHO training is THursday at 6pm so perhaps 2pm and 6pm that day, then squish two trainings to finish before 2pm on Sunday. If flying from the US fly into Toronto. IF flying from Canada you can choose Toronto or Hamilton. Hamilton gets West Jet flights from the West and Air Canada via MTL and Ottawa.
Thursday training will be close to Hamilton and in Hamilton. Friday will be near Milton (NAOC training). Saturday in Dundas Valley in Hamilton and Sunday in Burlington. Hope that helps.

The deadline line to register for the winter training camp in Hamilton with Holger and Sandy Hott Johansen is now December 21st! However, we will cap participation at 50 people (it is currently in the low to mid 40s) so you will likely need to register before the 21st if you want to take part. If we meet the 50 person limit and you still want to get in email me directly and I'll see what we can do.
