We, too, had been given incorrect information about the chanting at San Miniato when we visited last year. When the chanting finally did start, we were surprised that it was by a lay choir of about six or seven voices in street clothes, not a phalanx of clerics in robes. Didn't fit expectations set by our tour books. Nevertheless, a beautiful edifice and commanding view of the city.
Well, that is kind of what I thought. As it turned out, we were going to go over yesterday evening, but it was raining and we were tired, so we watched a spot of Italian TV instead.
