Didn't realize you'd be in Italy at this time. And you're going again in 3 months for MOC? Nice!

You certainly are enjoying better weather than most of eastern US! Chicago maintained a -20 wind-chill all day, and I'm not doing any walking!

Very nice here, out walking all day most days. Today we took the bus to Lucca. Lovely town, very old, very quiet, very tasteful. Lunch outside in the sun in Piazza del Anfiteatro.

Yes, very nice. But how about the important stuff...The Food! Can we get a course-by-course description of a couple meals you especially enjoyed?

When I went to Rome with two friends last summer, I could have done that, but two of the meals were at McDonald's. (Seriously.)

Well, McDonalds here in Firenze would not be recognizable back in the US of A. Not much different from a typical coffee bar, coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and the sandwiches are definitely Italian in character, with many choices. Not a burger or a mcmuffin in sight.

The one by the Spanish Steps has normal fare, but is very fancy and high-tech, and Stephen wanted to see it. The one in Ostia Lido was a typical McDs at the beach, but Nancy was really hungry and it looked like the easiest and fastest option. And she got a McShrimp or something.
