Discussion: sanctioning

The board approves the championship bibs of any event after it has been sanctioned. For a non championship event, I don't think the board has anything to do with it.

The board consideration generally is just rubber stamping a championship bid, although occasionally there's competition between two events. The events under consideration have already passed sanctioning.

Also note that the Relay champs format deviates from the rules. Sanctioning approves or denies these deviations. If there was another club bidding to host the Relay champs, the Board could compare the two offers and base awarding the bid on what you (Board) thought would make the best event. That's the intention, anyway.

Is LAOC's relay format posted anywhere? It's not on the event page yet. We're less than four months away, and this event needs more competitor coordination than most (teams from clubs).
