Discussion: Merri bridge

Assuming we're talking about the same one, I found it slightly amusing that it's designed to be above the 100-year flood level when a 100-year flood would probably see the trail cut in at least 50 other places.

Most bridges are designed to sacrifice the road either side before the bridge is destroyed. Its about what is left after the flood, not what is accessible during the flood.
