I'm looking forward to hearing about how the meet went. Hopefully all went well. More than a few people at the FIG mentioned that they wanted to do the night O but were disappointed that it conflicted with the FIG. Not just competitors but race volunteers too. A lot more interest than I expected.
I look forward to getting your take on the FIG! Ok I just saw it. We need to talk about the Sheltowee Extreme.
I think more people would attend but the distance, time allotment of time, and amount of controls would have to be increased. An hour out there is just not enough time to make it worth a drive. Even Louie and Linda cleared the course ! Kudos to Linda who is making giant strides. Carl, your control placement was right on target and no complaints at all. Everyone came back all smiles.
I was worried that people wouldn't enjoy it, I didn't make it too hard thinking about first timer's, doing it at night, and so on. I am glad people had a good time.
If we used the SW corner of the map more we could easily add more controls and build a longer event. It is pretty tight back there but they have been mowing paths and clearing brush so it has opened up more areas.
Ken, I am going to the OBlue meet Saturday and I will bring my Fig map. We can go over it and talk about the Sheltowee Extreme.
Sounds good! I will have a grandson with me. He wants to get outdoors.
Ken, can you bring a Start, Finish and Clear unit with you and hand them off to Carl? I will bring the download station and other units that I have
I will do that and hand off to Carl on Saturday.
