Ooh! Sorry to hear about the foot.

Intrinsic foot exercises & taping were probably the two most helpful things for me. Taping is especially helpful for protecting the foot if you're still running. I've also found a compression sleeve on the foot helpful.

Video for intrinsic: https://youtu.be/2OOJ9AQ1AEg. And, if you do the 'scrunch your toes to pick up a towel' exercise, try to do it with your toes pointed so you use your foot and not your calf.

Also, massage the heck out of your calf with foam roller.

Or get Alex to massage your calf- she is brutal & effective, especially when she's drunk :).
