All the cycling training sessions recognise that when you are doing maximal power efforts you can't use HR as a measure. Cycling you have the option of a power meter - running - thigh burn is probably as good as anything and if you are on a bike but don't have a power meter then thigh burn it is.
Okay good! I don't think it'll be regular, just gave it a try because my gym is closed.
Having said that... It was really fun!
You may well find it has an impact on you speed endurance.
I did some a few years back - on the bike - probably not even half a dozen sessions.
I ran the Chevvy Chase - long fell race in the Cheviots and had a great run off no great programme of running. the only thing I could put it down to was HIIT
