Could you summarize current choices for display technology? We have SI cards.
We have used Giovanni's custom built eInk display but haven't used regular displays yet. I want something that is relatively easy to take into the field for teaching. Definitely want to replace the little printers - makes too much paper that blows away. I'd like to have the typical displays you see at a meet, but also something we can program for games that have different formats. For little kids, who can't read yet, we want to be able to show pictures of animals corresponding to the order in which they punched at controls that have pictures of animals on them. So we need to be able to program that somehow.

The most versatile system I can think of is a tablet, like an iPad. It's programmable, portable, has its own power supply, and with the right software, can function as needed.
