Controls went out at Devil's Claw today, and the good news is: all the hills that were there two years ago are still there today. But wait, there's more: there are flowers everywhere, beautiful views, and, in a section of new map that has never been used before, a whole heard of rambunctious cattle eager to run along, too.
The less so good news is that the Devil's Claw day is going to be the buggy day. We will probably break down the start field into two groups: fast people who might get through unscathed by dint of sheer speed alone, and everyone else, with the recommendation that the latter group apply liberal amounts of bug spray before venturing out into the wilds of Devil's Claw, or else be known as "feeders".
How buggy are the other days? Do I need the gallon jug of bug spray, or just the quart? ;-)
Reminder to everyone to print the meet notes (with driving directions) ahead of time, since there will *not* be directional signs, and meet notes won't be included in your packet:
