1) Will
2) Eric B
3) Jourdan
4) Peteris
5) Nikolay
Those five are easy, and would be reasonably competitive with Ottawa and Cambridge. If it were 2014, the Culbergs would get the other two slots. Now? It'd be people like Eric J, Tori, Tyra, me, Devon (?), or one of the top varsity boys (Caleb, Jordan). And that's a big drop from the other five.
@Pink haha if we use Winter Series as our TT it'd be you and EJones. We'd put the Bonesaw on the long night and J on the long anchor leg and I think that team could be competitive. I think GVOC would have a good team too.
@W whatever you want, though I guess all your team members should probably all be still alive and reasonably functional as of June 2016.
Wait, are you unfamiliar with Will's "Bonesaw" moniker? I seem to recall him using this for years. It would be excellent if a large number of North American clubs sent teams to a large Euro relay (e.g. Jukola) wagering some meaningful championship. What is the US Relay champs without the Bonesaw and the rest of COC?
I'm trying to get a DontGetLost team together for next year. We have these people to choose from: Emma Waddington, Hans Fransson, Gustaf Granath, Mark Adams, Jan Erik Naess, Oivind Naess, Patrick Saile, Bob Miller, Christian Michelsen, and myself. I need to hope some of them can't race or I won't make the team. :-)
That team is a mix of young and old. With Serghei Logvin quitting O we lost our only elite male runner between the ages of 20 and 35. Emma, Jan Erik and Christian are currently on Canada's JWOC team. Myself, Oivind, Hans and Mark Adams are former Cdn WOC team members. Gustaf is our best runner and he is back in Sweden after living in Hamilton for two years and is 100% in to run our langa nattan leg. Bob Miller is likely too busy with AR to race and Patrick is our token Patrick and token Aussie.
1) J$ (he'll say he's retired, but, pfft)
2) Geir Moholt (we'll find him somewhere)
3) Kirsi Nurmi (The only real runner on the team)
4) Peter McKenzie (All hail the prez)
5) Nev (you can never escape) El Chucko - FIXED! ;)
6) Dave Roberts (geographically, he's pretty close)
7) Marie Brezinova (Junior MTBO champion)
Alternate: Me (required to lose 5kg first)
Sad state of affairs when only one of these people actually live in Edmonton anymore. But, that team has a pretty legit pedigree. Two world champions.
