rogaine map or will the orienteering maps be used?

The linked document says it's a Rogaine style map.

yeah I saw that but I'm also pretty sure that that web site hasn't changed in a decade except for race locations and dates. ;-)

I'm pretty sure it will be the existing orienteering maps of Letchworth East and West. I'm not aware of any special mapping that is being done to create a rogaine-style map. (Disclaimer though -- I'm not involved in any aspect of the organization of this event.)

There are at least two other ways to get to the west side...

There will be a new map for the event. Combining the two orienteering maps didn’t offer a large enough area for the regaine and sections are out of bounds due to construction of the new train trestle. The map was created using 2015 orthos and 2011 LIDAR. The biggest difference between to two types of maps is how vegetation is mapped.
The event will include Northern sections of the park, the towns of Portageville and Nunda, as well as sections of the Genesee Valley Greenway State Park.

Some of us got to see a draft of this map at the Snowgaine, and it is gorgeous.
