Pink Socks:
I've been a little quiet on the SART front so far because I've been wanting to nail down all of the permitting, but I just had a face-to-face meeting this morning at SPU and that's a go, so here's what the schedule looks like:

Saturday, September 10

Time Trial: Gas Works Park. This will be the debut of this venue and map for orienteering. It'll have spectacular views of the city!

Round 1: Woodland Park. We used this one for SART Round 1 last year, so no surprises here.

Round 2: Carkeek Park. This will be the first orienteering event here since 2002, and it'll be on a brand new ISSOM map (previous map was 1:7500). Unfortunately, we're not allowed to go off-trail here (it's mostly medium green). But, there are hills and a decent trail network, so expect this round to focus on route choice.

Round 3: Seattle Pacific University. This will be the debut of this venue and map for orienteering. It's a pretty small campus, but it's hilly and has its share of complexities. Because of the small venue size and likely arena location, having forked butterfly loops makes sense, but I'm not guaranteeing that yet.

Sunday, September 11

Round 4: University of Washington. In my opinion, one of the best sprint venues in the US. It's a fairly new ISSOM map from Rex Winterbottom, and it's only been used once, in December 2014. Because of completed construction projects since then, there are a few pockets of new terrain (and other pockets taken away, as other projects are now in work).

Round 5: University of Washington. Twice is nice! Like last year, expect forking!

Now that this has settled, I'll work on updating the website with this year's details, and my goal is to have registration open by June 10th (three months ahead of the event). Remember, there are only 80 spots and it sold out last year!
