Seems like this is the kind of message I keep having to write.
But of course you keep improving so it is only fair!

A sub-40m 10k is something of a lesser aim for me (never done it), but as that is not really a target on my training regime it would only be a nice byproduct. Given my age I am not overly concerned that my muscles aren't reacting as positively to training as maybe they were when I was your age!

Cheers! Training is going well (3min improvement in a year + a harder course).

Your training seems to be going well? You definitely seem to do a lot, maybe too much? My goal is to add in more strength and conditioning work (+ terrain running) as a lot of people rate that for benefits

I need to experiment a bit with training methods and see what works, the body reacts differently at this age. Earlier I definitely felt the lack of stamina at longer events, that is coming together now.

Relative to a lot of orienteers I am not training that much, i.e. 50-70km per week, but recently I started to change how those kms are being covered. Will see if that makes a difference. I'll drop frequency/distance a bit after the British Long Distance and change methods too, see what that does.
