Firstly, as you know, OpenOrienteering Mapper is cartographic desktop publishing system for producing orienteeng maps and free alternative to OCAD.
Latest stable build is v0.6.1 and you can get it here -
http://github.com/openorienteering/mapper/releases...Major changes for next release would be implementation of importing many geospatial data in different formats supported by GDAL library -
http://www.openorienteering.org/news/2016/mapper-w...Now you can get and test FRESH DEVELOPMENT BUILDS for testing purposes from here:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/dg...On linked page you must select folder named as you operation system and look for newest files in this folder.
Interesting, thank you. As a rookie mapper I've found OOM more user friendly already than OCAD. (To be fair though, I only have access to OCAD8, and can't speak to higher levels)
For most mappers starting out today, I'd suggest OOM. It's adequate for most O mapping, and doesn't require careful tracking of club licenses. It's also available for more platforms (Windows, Mac, Android).
