Tundra/Desert:
Well, it's now over. Two teams, one fully USOF, one finished, much higher than the only other USOF team to finish, BAOC in 1997. Thanks to:

  • Ken—for starting the whole thing, and for being a solid presence on the long night leg!
  • Tim—for always being there when asked, especially for chauffering the rest around! And for beating our 2nd team's seeding on the first leg...
  • Eric—for an awesome run on the first leg.
  • Greg, Todd, and Bryn—the crazy Kiwi dudes—for coming out of nowhere and rescuing the 2nd team. At least we got one result...
  • Neil—for finding the crazy Kiwi dudes, and for that Irish cheer.
  • Matthias—for finishing the job for the 2nd team despite evil plots by the Jukola officials.
  • John—for helping us even though Tyrving 2 may have been a better choice (sorry...)
  • Greg—for making up some places, there'll always be next time...
  • Tapio—for keeping the dream alive!
  • Carl—for getting up here in the wee hours for a kick-butt run.
  • And to all of you who wanted to come this year but couldn't—it was a great experience, and I hope you think about the Jukola for the future. USOF and the Team should certainly consider covering some expenses for the 1st Jukola team from now on.

And as a postscript, be sure and note the last message in that "starting the whole thing" thread...
