Yeah - I think it's really different when it's about you & the rock & the cliff than when it's about you and whatever unpredictable stuff others will do.

Glad the hike to the west rim was worth it!

Just did the same trip with similar result. Would be a great hike to do when quiet. Good tip about the West Rim Trail!

Well I'm glad my terror was of service! Wasn't the West Rim glorious?!

Fabulous. The herding nature of the visitors to the National Parks never ceases to amaze me. No room to swing a cat anywhere on the hike up or on Angel's Landing, but then you get the West Rim all to yourself. Even on Easter Saturday, which definitely isn't the best day to go.

Where else did ypu go?

Just that in Zion. The whole trip was Great Sand Dunes, Mesa Verde, Monument Valley, Zion, Bryce (my favourite), Capitol Reef (my least favourite, but good mormon fruit pie), Arches, Canyonlands, and some non National Parky stuff around Moab.

I should write a bit about it, but work has been rather hectic!

And did you stop in Vail? Snow has been dumping and keep hearing the skiing is great. Should be there.

Harrumph. I've now visited all those except Bryce, which loads of people say is the best. Ah well, at least we avoided the apocalypse at Kilnsey.

We had lunch in Edwards but had to scram because the day we drove through was the first snow storm to hit of this big bunch. We just made it back to Denver before our tiny car would have started to have problems.

And yup, Bryce was totally the best. Sorry Graeme!
