...but ultimately still a sad commentary on how these guys kind of game the system. I'm not sure that it's really respectful to their competitors, or really even to the organizers. I get that they're not happy with the prize ceremony being at night. But still. Just sad.
Norway are growing into their role as the Evil Empire of the sport.
Just the top of the iceberg.
speaking of tip of the iceberg. Will be interesting to see what happens with this...

To answer your question - anyone in Europe living south of a line Oslo to Stockholm soeantto Helsinki doesn't care whatsoever. World Champs in biathlon on the other side...And sad as it is, it has been very few stories in the Canadian newspapers despite Harvey doing well.
Here is another view of the issues raised in Hammer's article (this time by Hausken Nordberg, who happens to be a pharmacologist):

Speaking of biathlon, impressive team effort by Canada just now:

Very impressive indeed! We usually are watching that live on Swedish TV, but missed it with all the other Saturday scrambling around here. Too bad! But it'll be on SVT replay...
I'm going to do a separate post on that Canadian result.
Biathlonworld.com streams everything live and you can watch later as well albeit without commentary. FIS should do the same.
Wil - TV4 has the biathlon rights and not SVT.
Yah, discovered that yesterday when I had a free moment to look at coverage...
Jeff Ellis was telling me that International Biathlon owns the rights and can then sell to whomever. However for skiing its owned by the national federation. Thus SWE SKI can sell for big bucks and CCC has to pay for CBC to cover the races.
