When the website gets updated, we'd appreciate it if someone could address the following:

-Start window for the first race Sat?

-Availability of childcare if parents end up running at the same time for the second middle?

We really want to come, but we're not sure we can pull off the drive up from DC if starts are too early on Sat morning. Also have to plan something for our youngest for the second race, since Jon and I will likely end up in the woods at the same time.
Thanks much!

Hi, Tori - information is getting posted to the website shortly; I apologize for the delay getting it out there.

The start windows on Saturday are 9-11 AM and 1-3 PM for the two middle distance races. The winning time for the preliminary race are shorter - 25-30 minutes - to allot for the two races. We do not have plans for formal child care, but we would be happy to coordinate among interested parents; I think it would be straightforward to have an area for kids where one or two parents could supervise at all times. Certainly we are happy to accommodate start time requests for parents and allow deviations from the seeding as necessary.

Start times on Sunday are 9-11 AM for the classic distance.

Thanks, Ian. That's a tough call - we figure we could pull off a 10AM arrival for an 11AM start (assuming the usual chaos of finding registration, walk to start, etc), but there's not a lot of room for error (traffic!), and definitely no room for split starts on the first race. Any chance the start window might move a little bit to the right?

If we come, we'd be up to participate in a kid/parent hangout area.

Thanks for your quick response!

Tori - while we definitely plan to keep the bulk of starts inside 9:30-11, we will be prepared to start the occasional straggler as late as noon. Total transit time from parking to the arena should be about 10 minutes, with a ~400m walk to the start for both races. I'll be in touch about parent timeshare; I'm hopeful that a few NEOC families would also participate.

Ok, I think that's doable. Thanks, Ian!
