Sharon won today's WMSOC Long at Oberwiesenthal, Germany in F70 by 1 second, following her 2nd in the combined two days of Middle racing. Sharon is widely known and respected in international orienteering, with her often being introduced at awards as the "World Famous" Sharon Crawford.

She is further doing her part for USA SkiO by strongly promoting the 2018 World SkiO Masters to be held in Craftsbury, VT, March 2018, with interest already building with the Swedes, Italians, Russians and Finns.

Splits have come out: Sharon was 8 sec behind at the GO control, she made it all up in the 100m to the Finish!

Great race! Great competitor! I guess there's a few of us who have Sharon's tracks right up our backside, after being unceremoniously run down during the finish! :-)

Sharon has built her own institution of athletic endeavour and success. I first met her in the late 70s as a fellow NEOC member. Back then, some of us used to say "beat Sharon" or 10'/k - neither was easy.

I did a 24 hr rogaine with her in June, 2007 and had a hard time keeping up with her on one particular after dark, long uphill stretch when fatigue and second thoughts could creep in. She just kept on truckin'. Like her many mountain summits, too. Or her retired number for many Coureur de Bois gold medals at the Canadian ski marathon. Ever onward (or upward) Sharon!

I got to 10'/K before I could beat Sharon. That took a few more years.
An inspiring competitor.

Wow, Sharon! Such a champ, and so inspiring.

Sharon is one of the reasons I came to do ski-o at the level I do it now. She is unbelievable.
